چکیده
1 Recent advances in basic science, technology and treatments have increased our abilities to manage hearing and balance diseases more effectively. Advances in molecular genetics have allowed better understanding of congenital and hereditary hearing loss. The advent of regenerative medicine led to auditory hair cell regeneration in laboratory animals. Advances in hearing aids, cochlear implants and implantable middle ear devices have helped more effective management of hearing loss particularly in pediatric population.

Objectives: Rehabilitation strategies play a pivotal role in reliving the inappropriate behaviors and improving children's performance during school. Concentration and visual and auditory comprehension in children are crucial to effective learning and have drawn interest from researchers and clinicians. Vestibular function deficits usually cause high level of alertness and vigilance, and proble...
متن کاملVestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential Produced by Bone-Conducted Stimuli: A Study on its Basics and Clinical Applications in Patients With Conductive and Sensorineural Hearing Loss and a Group With Vestibular Schawannoma
Introduction: Vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) has recently been broadly studied in vestibular disorders. As it is evoked by loud sound stimulation, even mild conductive hearing loss may affect VEMP results. Bone-conducted (BC) stimulus is an alternative stimulation for evoking this response. This study aims to assess the characteristics of BC-VEMP in different groups of patients. ...
